Description U-Beaut Sanding Sealer 500 ml is a traditional sanding sealer. Sanding scales and wood blocks tears at the grain. Often torn grain (nap) will swell and stand up in a finish, resulting in a feeling that sand has been blown over the work. This sanding sealer has been constructed to raise the nap of the grain, making it stand up and become brittle. It can then be sanded off with fine grit abrasive paper, leaving a silky smooth base to apply a finish to. The below steps can be followed to effectively apply U-Beaut Sanding Sealer to your wood: Finely sand the wood Apply a thin coat of sanding sealer to the whole surface of the wood using a clean (preferably lint free) rag. One application is all that is needed. Allow to dry. This can take from 10 minutes to 1 hour or more, depending on weather conditions, timber type and how much sealer has been applied. Once dry, sand with a single grade of fine abrasive paper (600 – 800 grit or finer if desired). Sand softly in the direction of the grain. Stop sanding when the nap is removed and the wood surface feels silky smooth. Note: if the paper clogs immediately with the sealer, leave it to dry a little longer This sealer can also be used as a retarder (a sealer that allows dyes and stain to be applied to the surface of most timbers without going blotchy).
